Eco-Schools Early Years
Eco-Schools for Early Childhood Education (ECE) inspires exploration, fuels curiosity, and nurtures children's natural desire to ask questions about the world around them. Using the Eco-Schools seven steps framework and themes, children will connect what they learn with the real world.
This approach is a crucial basis for building the emotions, attitudes, values, behaviours and skills which will help them build positive relationships with their environment and each other.
Early Years Handbook
This handbook supports the establishment of the Eco-Schools programme in Early Childhood Education (ECE) settings and contributes to achieving the target of the Greening Education Partnership (GEP). The simple seven-step framework guides the exploration of five Eco-Schools Early Years themes—waste, water, biodiversity, energy, and health—through action-based learning.
This approach connects schools, communities, and the environment, empowering young learners to develop environmental awareness and take an active role in creating a more sustainable world from the beginning of their educational journey.
